This piece is deeply personal, representing the lessons and experiences that have shaped my healing journey. Every detail is intentional, woven with meaning and symbolism. The three mushrooms embody the Rule of Three. An ancient principle that suggests things in groups of three are more impactful, balanced, and memorable. This rule extends beyond composition; it reflects the harmony of past, present, and future, as well as the three main natural teachers that have guided me. These teachers are all present in this piece. Fungi representing the magic of mushrooms, the wooden canvas grounding the essence of Iboga, and the lotus mandala in the background symbolising the spiritual realm of Ayahuasca.

Two trees stand tall, acting as the two pillars. They are symbols of duality, polarity, and the balance of opposing forces in nature. One's root connects to the heart, representing Gaia’s unconditional love for all beings. In their branches, two spirits appear. One looking ahead into the future, the other turned toward the past, but not looking back to get lost in it. They serve as guardians of time, reminding us that reflection is necessary, but we must not become stuck in what was. Between them, a meditator sits in stillness, grounded in the present moment, protected from being pulled too far in either direction.

The meditator is naked and blind, signifying the vulnerability required to face one’s true self and engage in deep shadow work. Three figures within the piece each possess a single eye, representing the heightened awareness of Ajna, the seat of intuition and inner vision that connects us beyond the physical world.

This painting has morphed over time. Initially, the scene was surrounded by many monsters, representing inner struggles and fears. But as time passed, it no longer felt right to keep them there. Their absence reflects growth. A shift from being consumed by darkness to finding balance and clarity. This painting is more than just an image; it is a visual representation of transformation, balance, and the journey of self-discovery.
